Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church
Jul 27 ~ Stuff
Is stuff interfering with your spirituality - or is it helping? Our Worship Associates will facilitate this exploration.

Aug 3 ~ The Way for This Journey
Tony's sermon will focus on both the "generic" way that we all travel to find fulfillment, and the particular path each of us must discover for ourselves. What is your "tao" - and are you on your way? There will also be a Beyond-These-Four-Walls presentation on Root Pike WIN's rain garden project, which will be our Offertory Outreach recipient for the month of August, and special music will be provided by Bobbie Prichard.

Aug 10 ~ I, Marcus
No, not the movie-theatre chain but Marcus Sentilius, Roman centurion from 30 CE, stationed in Jerusalem. He will speak (via our minister) on his views of Jesus' "Kingdom of God" versus his own "Kingdom of Rome." (Which do you think our world looks more like?) We will also have a Gnostic-style communion ceremony at this service, with special music provided by Ed Wieman and Mary O'Neill.

Aug 17 ~ Why I am a Buddhist/Christian/Humanist/Jewish/Pagan/Theist (or some combination thereof) UU
People in our church will discuss the theologies they bring to Unitarian Universalism.

Aug 24 ~ As If
What a many-layered expression that is--bringing together good-natured skepticism, spiritual practices, possibility thinking, and science fiction. Think you can guess from that, what Tony's sermon will say? As if!

Aug 31 ~ Wholly Water
Water Communion Sunday. Members and friends bring water (from the places you've traveled to during the summer or simply tap water from home that represents change in your life) and pour it into a common container as you share its significance to you.
